6 Foods that prevent Urinary Tract Infection, no Antibiotic Needed!

When you have Urinary tract infection. You usually experience abdominal pain, back cramping or burning sensation when urinating. According to the studies from Harvard Medical School, foods play important in preventing and reducing the symptoms of UTI. Here is the list of food that will not just help you fight UTI, but also prevent having a recurrent infection.

Although water is not a food, it is considered the MOST important out of all. It helps both prevent and reduce the current symptom of UTI by flushing the bacteria away through urine. You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day since it is important to maintain hydrated in your body. In addition, it has a lot of benefits like reducing blood pressure, relieving headaches, makes you physically active and even preventing on having conditions such as stroke or myocardial infarction.

Baking soda creates an Alkaline PH that helps decrease the acidity of your urine because it is the acidic urine what causes pain and burning during urination with a UTI. Baking Soda contains high sodium, so it’s not recommended if you have high blood pressure. Despite this benefit, this is not widely used by the majority of the people, since too much alkaline can damage your kidney and it is better to take Vitamin C to help balance the PH.

    What useful information you provide here! I personally tend to have more yeast or kidney infections. Well it actually starts as a UTI but then I typically don’t go see the doctor right away until it has migrated in my kidneys. So I do need to take care of myself better and knowing which food that can help prevent infections is awesome. I am not even sure how I dealt with the pain! But I certainly remember the pain in the kidneys! I will know what to eat though from now on.

    1. As a matter of facts yes. Food such as Caffeinated drinks including coffee, acidic fruits like lemon and alcohol will aggravate an existing Urinary tract infection. Avoid those foods when you have UTI, however it doesnt cause or produce UTI. Hope you learn something.
